Arguably the centrepiece of Perth’s developments is Elizabeth Quay. Located on the foreshore next to the Bell Tower this $2.6 billion project will feature an inlet connected by 1.5km of continuous boardwalks and promenades, new hotel and short stay accommodation as well as contemporary inner city residential options. A bridge at the entrance to the inlet will lead to an island featuring winding paths, kiosk, children’s playground and spectacular views back to the city.

The project is expected to create more than 1,600 jobs during construction and be a future workplace for more that 10,000 people. When complete, Elizabeth Quay will attract more than 4 million visitors each year and will be a place where people gather by the river to work, live and celebrate occasions big and small.

Perth Stadium

Constructed on what is expected to be Perth’s new playground, the Burswood Peninsula, Perth’s new Stadium will be a major sporting and entertainment venue, capable of attracting national and international events to the state.

Built to have fans interests in mind it will have a capacity of 60,000 and the potential to increase to 70,000. The stadium will be state of the art in terms of design and technology. With cyclepaths and open areas it is also designed for year round recreational use. The local public transport will also be improved including redeveloping the Belmont Park Station, to become Stadium Station, and upgrading East Perth Station.

Perth City Link

It involves sinking the Fremantle rail line from Perth Station to Lake/King streets, undergrounding of the Wellington Street Bus Station and creating five new connections between the CBD and Northbridge. When completed Perth City Link will deliver significant benefits for locals and tourists alike: better access and connectivity; more residential, retail, entertainment and commercial opportunities; and more than 4 hectares of high quality public spaces.
